THE PROJECT

One community.
Several connected systems.

SkaiaCraft is a long-running Minecraft community project built across a public website, bespoke gameplay code and the infrastructure behind both. The challenge is not simply producing a good-looking page or writing a plugin. The whole experience has to fit together.

The work covers planning, implementation, release and maintenance. It continues to evolve as new features are added and existing systems are improved.

THE WORK / IN DETAIL

What actually goes into it.

The examples below describe ongoing project areas rather than invented performance figures or client outcomes.

01 / THE PUBLIC WEB PLATFORM

Making a connected system usable.

SkaiaCraft's public website is built with Next.js and TypeScript. It brings together community information, account features, player-facing data and store journeys. The ongoing work has included interface consistency, authentication flows, operational status and technical SEO.

02 / CUSTOM JAVA DEVELOPMENT

More than a collection of plugins.

Custom Java plugins support gameplay areas including quests, skills, bosses, duels and rewards. The difficult parts are the connections: player state, persistence, permissions, compatibility and behaviour when a live multiplayer server is under load.

03 / RUNNING IT IN PRODUCTION

Build it. Ship it. Keep it running.

The surrounding work includes Coolify releases, health and status checks, Cloudflare configuration, production debugging and follow-up hardening. Changes have to work beyond the development environment.

SELECTED TECHNICAL DECISIONS

Problems beyond the screenshot.

Examples of the constraints involved in maintaining a connected live project. These aren't fabricated before-and-after performance results.

01 / Web / reliability

Make failures clear instead of hiding them.

Challenge. A live community website depends on status checks, player-facing data and third-party services. Those can be slow or temporarily unavailable.

Approach. Treat freshness, error states and service availability as user-facing concerns. Debug the full path through Cloudflare, the application and background workers instead of trusting a single green indicator.

02 / Java / persistence

Design for restarts and interrupted work.

Challenge. Gameplay systems such as quests, rewards and duels involve player state that cannot depend on a perfect server session.

Approach. Account for persistence, permission boundaries, payout interruptions and interactions between plugins. Validate important edge cases alongside the normal gameplay path.

03 / Delivery / production

Trace the real deployment path.

Challenge. An application can compile locally but still fail behind a proxy, during a build or under production load.

Approach. Use logs, realistic smoke checks and release verification to identify the actual failure before changing the code or hosting configuration.

WHAT THIS SHOWS

The thinking behind the work.

Across disciplines. Frontend, server-side code and hosting are considered together.

Designed for real use. Behaviour matters when people depend on a feature every day.

Maintained over time. Debugging, testing and ongoing improvement are part of development.
